Peter Villax

Chairman

Peter Villax is the Chairman of Hovione Ventures. He joined Hovione in 1982 as a computer programmer and led Hovione’s computerization. He then switched to pharmaceutical development in 1990 and soon became interested in pulmonary delivery. His disposable dry-powder inhaler TwinCaps, licensed to Daiichi Sankyo for the delivery of Influenza drug Inavir®, continues to be the only commercial device of its kind in the world, and has helped Daiichi Sankyo become the market leader in influenza products in Japan. He acquired significant experience as an inventor of devices, as a patentholder and as a licensor of technology patents. In 2013, he was involved in a 7-figure royalty monetization deal with a US-based financial company, under which Hovione sold its future licensing income streams.

João Botelho

Financial Advisor

João Botelho is the Financial Advisor of Hovione Ventures. He has more than 15 years of experience in Auditing, Finance and Private Equity. He is currently Co-Founder and CFO of Biovance Capital. Most recently, he was Finance Director at Bionova Capital. . He previously was Financial and Business Controller at ECS Capital, overseeing a € 1bn private equity fund. João holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Financial Accounting.

Ana Agostinho

Administration and Support

Ana Agostinho is Hovione Ventures office manager, bringing over 20 years of experience as an executive assistant across multiple companies in the pharmaceutical industry and other areas. With an extensive skillset in various aspects of office management, Ana supports both the team and fund activities. Ana holds an academic background in Anthropology from NOVA FCSH - University of Lisbon School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
